Why we do what we do…….
We build resilient crops in healthy systems – with less input and more insight.
Ethical – Grounded in truth
After 35 years with plants, I’ve learned they don’t need guesswork — they need someone who listens.
I measure brix, nutrients, and pathology before giving advice. If I don’t know the answer, I connect the grower with someone who does.
The goal isn’t a sale — it’s understanding.
By sharing data openly, I help growers learn. Knowledge builds trust; trust builds resilience.
“I don’t guess what a plant needs — I ask it, measure it, and let the results guide us.”
Effective – rooted in strategy
I act as both scientist and detective — bringing clarity when others can’t.
My method follows a clear visual path:
- Symptom spotted — notice the earliest changes.
- Investigation — measure, test, and identify.
- Intervention plan — take targeted, sustainable action.
- Outcome — track and adjust.
- Future — prevent recurrence through training, hygiene, and plant quality management.
By visualizing brix, nutrient, and pathology data, plant health becomes clear and teachable.
Imagine: “Plant Crime Scene” — real cases of crops rescued through plant forensics

Beautiful – inspiring people to grow
Plant health is more than data — it’s life, color, and vitality.
I treat each plant as an individual story of resilience.
A thriving plant inspires growers, families, and communities alike.
Healing begins with empathy — for both plants and people.
“Every plant tells a story — my job is to listen, measure, and help it grow stronger.”
Consciense-driven – guided by respect
Each diagnosis begins with curiosity and consent.
Every wilt or color shift is a clue, every measurement a way of listening.
When growers join in, they begin to understand the plant’s silent language.
We move from selling to stewardship — from product to partnership.
That’s why I always start with exploration, not persuasion.
I share my findings freely, even when it costs a sale.
Truth builds trust — and trust sustains ecosystems.
Whenever possible, I choose solutions that protect the plant, soil, and environment.
This is more than work — it’s care in action.

Among tomato plants, I learned early on how to truly understand a plant. What began as fascination grew into my life’s work: decoding the language of plants. As a Dr. Ir. in plant health, with more than 35 years of experience in virology, nematology, plant physiology and countless crops worldwide, I’ve learned to look beyond symptoms alone.
I see how growers do their best every day within the boundaries of existing systems — yet those standards no longer fit the challenges of today and tomorrow. My drive is to change that reality by bringing together knowledge, simplicity and sustainability.
My approach is holistic and purposeful: I read the plant, investigate what’s really happening — brix, nutrients, pathology — and help build resilient, healthy crops using the simplest means possible. For this I use the existing practises as a starting point to see where the largest impacts can be made.
Beyond that I have a contagious curiosity on biology of plants in their environment and love to teach others on these topics. And I have guided multiple, internationally based companies through certification systems for good plant health such as Elite for ornamentals and soft fruits and GSPP for tomatoes.
My guiding principle: “with 35 years experience in plant health, I investigate what’s really wrong – brix, nutrients, pathology – so we can build stronger, more resilient plants using the simplest tools”
